First ICAN international conference in Geneva

Geneva, September 17, 2011: The first ICAN International conference took place in Geneva from September 17 - 19th 2011. The conference brought together delegates from all over the world - including Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, USA and Australia.

The conference included workshops on topics including the role of civil society, delegitimizing nuclear weapons, engaging governments, Humanitarian aspects of abolition, campaigning and using the media.
The final day of the conference focussed on the Middle East and Africa and how to build a campaign in the Developing world.
